Martin Yan is an acclaimed chef, food writer, and television host. Born in China in 1948, he is best known for his PBS cooking show Yan Can Cook, which he began hosting in 1982. He has been recognized for his work with an honorary Doctorate of Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University, a Daytime Emmy Award, and two James Beard Awards for Best TV Food Journalism and Best TV Cooking Show.
