Ramones was the host of Otro Rollo, a popular Mexican television show produced by Televisa and shown in 53 countries, including the United States, where it was broadcast by Univision. With Gaby Valencia, he has a daughter named Paola and a son named Diego.

Ramones was kidnapped in 1998, only a month before his wedding. His kidnappers blindfolded him and shackled his wrists and feet in a cupboard. During those seven days, he lost 15.5 pounds since he was only allowed to drink the bare minimum of water and was continually threatened by the criminal gang.
