A singer and guitarist from the United States. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Winter was known for his high-energy blues-rock albums and live performances. He also produced three Grammy Award-winning albums for Muddy Waters, the blues singer, and guitarist. Winter went on to record several Grammy-nominated blues albums after his time with Waters. He was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1988, and he was ranked 63rd on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2003.
