She has crowned Miss Germany in 1952 after winning the title of Miss Nürnberg. She then went to the United States to compete in the first Miss Universe pageant, which was held in Long Beach, California, and she came in fifth place (fourth runner up).
She became a contract player for Universal Studios shortly after and appeared in many films during the 1950s.
