Nate Carr was born in Pennsylvania on June 24, 1960. Former freestyle wrestler who won a World Championship representing the United States in 1990. He also won a bronze medal in the lightweight division at the 1988 Olympic Games. He and fellow American Kenny Monday both competed at the 1988 Olympic Games. He went 115-7 and won a Pennsylvania State Championship as a high school wrestler at Erie Tech.

Career
Carr maintained his freestyle wrestling career at the international level after graduating from Iowa State. Carr was named to the World Championship team in 1983. He won the World Cup and the Pan-American Championships in 1986. While serving as an assistant coach at West Virginia University, he began training for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. Carr did not partake in any of the recreational activities available to competitors while staying in the Olympic Village because he felt it would distract him from his single-minded focus on winning gold. He battled his way to the semifinals of the Games and took home a bronze medal.
In 1990, he was a member of the World Championship team.
