Jesse opened up about his parents’ struggles

His parents Kirsty and Roy, split up shortly after Jesse was born. Despite their separation, being a son, he always maintained good terms with both of them. 

Later in an interview, he opened up about his mother dealing with extreme depression. He confronted how it distressed him on and off the pitch. 

There was a point where Jesse was delighted even to lay back and watch games at the stadium due to the circumstances his mother was going through. 

He even shared the moment during his childhood saying, Kirsty used to mention that she was depressed. 

She used to be in bed in darkness, curtains all closed, but young Jesse didn’t have an idea of the word. 

And he would be just heading out, playing, busy on his own, Jesse added. However, after opening up with the struggles at United, numerous doctors were there to help them out.
