Which is correct recurring or reoccurring?
Reoccur and recur are verbs that share a common root word. While they are very close in meaning, they are not the same. Something that is recurring happens over and over again, possibly at regular intervals. In contrast, something that is reoccurring is simply happening again but not always repeatedly.
Is reoccurring hyphenated?
Is “reoccurring” a word and is there any semantic difference with “recurring“? The internet seems divided on this one. Although, e.g., the Merriam-Webster dictionary does not list the word “reoccurring“, dictionary.com does list it as a variant of “occur”, and the Oxford dictionary even has a separate entry for it.
