Famous as a singer and keyboardist for the Canadian roots music group The Band, he is also remembered for his work with Bob Dylan‘s one-time backup band, The Hawks. He appeared with Tommy Lee Jones in the 1970 independent film Eliza’s Horoscope. He started playing the piano at the age of nine and later trained briefly at the Ontario Conservatory of Music. In his mid-teens, he formed a band called The Revols.
