Jimmy Reed was born in Mississippi on September 6, 1925. Electric blues guitar player and songwriter who was posthumously inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. He influenced The Rolling Stones and The Steve Miller Band among many others. He even influenced The King, Elvis Presley, as Elvis recorded several of his songs. He began to learn music by training on a harmonica and learning to play guitar starting in 1925.

Career
Mama Reed was an unrecognized background singer on many of his recordings, including the hits “Baby What You Want Me To Do,” “Big Boss Man” and “Bright Lights, Big City.”
By the 1950s, Reed had become a popular musician. He joined the Gary Kings with John Brim and played with Willie Joe Duncan on the street. [3] [3] Reed did not enter into a recording contract with Chess Records but signed with Vee-Jay Records through Brim’s drummer, Albert King. At Vee-Jay, Reed started playing with Eddie Taylor again and soon released “You Don’t Have to Go,” his first hit record. A long string of hit songs followed.
