Prominent American video game and animated film voice actress who provided voices for characters in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Diablo III, and Metal Gear Solid. She did voice acting with Chuck McCann for the animated Iron Man series. She had her first acting role at age 16 in A Father’s Homecoming, a TV movie.

Early Lives and Education

Born in 1978 in New Orleans and raised in Alabama, Jennifer ‘Jen’ Hale grew up in love with sports, as she said in an interview, “I grew up hearing about first downs and penalties before I could talk.” Only a few weeks after graduating from Apple Valley High School, her father died of heart failure.

Planning to become a lawyer, she completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science at Louisiana State University, New Orleans. Her life took a different turn, however, when she appeared as a political analyst for Tiger TV, a student-run television program at LSU.

She confesses that it was the moment she fell in love with broadcasting. Being a sports lover and a ‘competition gymnast’ led her to become captain of the cheerleading team, and she was also the homecoming queen and Miss LSU.

Hale earned her Master’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University in Chicago. She is also the recipient of the 2009 RIAS fellowship, which enables her to fly to Germany and research US-German ties.
