From 1968 to 1983, he was an American football wide receiver in the National Football League. The Los Angeles Rams selected Jackson in the 12th round (323 overall) of the 1968 NFL Draft. Jackson was hired as the head coach of his alma mater, Jackson State, in 2014. Five games into the 2015 season, he was fired.
