Future- Biography

Future is one of the hottest American rappers of recent times; he has everything going for him–the fan following, the music, the sound, and the chart-busting albums. Billboard has dubbed him the “Future of Music.” And why not, given that he is the only artist in history to dethrone his own album (FUTURE) from the top spot in order to replace it with another of his albums (HNDRXX). With this, Future became the first performer in Billboard history to debut two consecutive #1 albums. Surprisingly, his cousin was the one who originally exposed him to music and rapping.

Future had no idea that his fate would be sealed, as would his stage moniker for the rest of his life. Future has produced several mixtapes and albums since 2010, all of which have charted at the top. In 2012, he made a major step forward with his debut album, ‘Pluto,’ which received good reviews. He swiftly followed it up with similarly successful second and third albums. He achieved international success in 2015 with his chart-topping album ‘DS2’ and super hit mixtape ‘What A Time To Be Alive.’ Future appears to be the ‘Future’ of music, with universal impact and pervasive chart dominance.

Future was born on November 20, 1983, in Atlanta, Georgia as Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn from a family of street hustlers. He went to Columbia High School.

Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn was a member of the musical collective ‘The Dungeon Family’ as a child. It was there that he was given the nickname Future, which he carried with him for the rest of his life. Rico Wade, his cousin, urged him to polish his creative talents and pursue a career in rapping.
