Jack Antonoff’s Childhood: Parents, Siblings, and Schooling
Jack Antonoff was born on March 31, 1984, to Jewish parents in Bergenfield, New Jersey, United States of America. As a result, he is an American citizen with a white racial heritage. With his siblings Sarah Antonoff and Rachel Antonoff, he grew up as the second child in his family. Rick Antonoff is his father, and Shira Wall Antonoff is his mother.
When it came to his siblings, his younger sister, Sarah, died when Jack was in high school at the age of thirteen. Her death was caused by brain cancer. His older sister, Rachel, has made a name for herself as an American fashion designer.
Jack grew up in New Milford, New Jersey, with his Jewish family and attended the Bergen County Solomon Schechter Day School. During high school, he was also a member of Outline, a punk rock band that released their self-titled EP in January 2000 through a friend’s record label.

Jack Antonoff founded the band Steel Train with his friend Scott Irby-Ranniar in 2002, and started as a lead singer with two other friends, Evan Winiker and Matthew Goldman, to develop a career in the music industry. After a few years, he was invited to join the New York City-based American pop band fun. Shoot and Ignite was the band’s debut album, which was released in 2009. In 2012, they released their second album, Some Nights.
Jack had a breakout year in 2014, launching a solo project called Bleachers in February. I Want to Get Better was his first single, and it got a favorable review from The Huffington Post. During an interview, he explained how he came up with the idea for his song to become the most famous song of 2014, saying:
I wanted to create something that was both streamlined and organic to bridge the gap between Disclosure and Arcade Fire… The production and songwriting are obscenely extravagant, majestic, and unapologetic. The album is about discovering a world in which you can be kind to yourself.
After co-writing and co-producing the song Sweeter than Fiction for the film One Chance with American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, Jack gained a lot of recognition. In June 2017, he collaborated with Lorde on the song Melodrama. In 2019, he collaborated on Lana Del Rey’s sixth studio album, Norman Fucking Rockwell!, as a co-producer. He won four Grammy Awards, to name a few of his accomplishments. Also, he was nominated for one Golden Globe Award.
