Career
From 1905 to 1906, Chrysler worked for the Fort Worth and Denver Railways in Childress, West Texas. Chrysler’s automotive career began in 1911 when he was summoned to meet with James J. Storrow, a banker who was Alco’s director. In 1923, Chrysler bought a twelve-acre (5 ha) waterfront estate from Henri Willis Bendel at Kings Point, Long Island, New York,[14] and renamed it ‘Forker House.’ In December 1941, the property was sold to the U.S. government’s War Shipping Department and became known as Wiley Hall as part of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
