Hannah Tointon- Biography

Hannah Tointon is an English actress best known for her roles in ‘The Inbetweeners’ and ‘Hollyoaks.’ She was born and reared in Essex and joined an acting club when she was seven years old because her sister was in the same group. She gradually began to embrace the world of acting and theater. She never went to drama school and claims to have learned everything she knows about acting through watching her co-actors on stage.

Tointon made her acting debut in 2003, playing a minor role in the TV series ‘Star,’ and subsequently a major role in the children’s series ‘Kerching!’ She had cameo appearances in programs such as ‘New Tricks’ and ‘Murder City’ after appearing in a recurrent role in ‘Dream Team.’ In 2007, she received her first major break in her acting career when she was cast as a regular in the long-running soap opera ‘Hollyoaks.’ She made her cinematic debut in 2006 and has since played prominent roles in films such as ‘Walking with the Enemy’ and ‘The Lost Future.’

Hannah Tointon was born to Ken and Carol Tointon on December 28, 1987, in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Kara, her older sister, was her closest companion when she was a child. Hannah’s family relocated to Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, shortly after her birth, where she began her early education. Kara and Hannah had been best friends since Hannah was a toddler.

Hannah has had a button-sized cyst under her right eye since birth. It protruded from her mouth. Although she didn’t see it at first, people began to notice it as she grew older. It was removed only when she reached the age of 12. Hannah said that she had never been bullied at school as a result of her cyst. She did, however, confess that she preferred to spend her time at home with her family, which she described as her “comfort zone.”

Hannah’s older sister became interested in acting when she was seven years old and joined a local theater club. Hannah joined her sister in acting classes because she was close to her. She developed an interest in becoming an actor over time. Hannah experienced a life-changing experience when she was 12 years old. She tried out for a role in the ‘West End’ musical ‘Whistle Down the Wind.’ She was first hesitant to take part in it. She eventually accustomed to singing and dancing in the show.

Over the next few years, she continued to appear in theatrical plays. She began studying painting in college after graduating from ‘St. Michael’s School’ in Leigh. However, she had already begun to receive acting offers. As a result, she dropped out and devoted herself full-time to acting.
