Back in the 1960s, when Tina Turner and her husband Ike Turner were still performing together, Rhonda Graam was a huge Tina Turner fan. Tina eventually hired her in November 1964, after the musician and Ike divorced. Rhonda’s contribution to Tina’s success is highlighted throughout the documentary.

Rhonda and Tina developed a strong working relationship and even became friends outside of work after years of collaboration. Tina was so close to Rhonda that she asked her to be her maid of honor when she married Erwin Bach in 2013.

Rhonda discussed her friendship with Tina in an interview.“It felt more like home to me. I mean, her mother used to refer to me as her “other daughter.” We were and still are that close.”

Rhonda Graam, Tina’s long-time friend and personal assistant, died on January 15, 2021. She broke the heartbreaking news on Twitter.

“I’m brokenhearted. Rhonda was a close friend and confidante of mine. She believed in me before anyone else, and I will miss her kind heart, sense of humor, and wise advice. I will treasure our friendship for the rest of my life. “May you rest in peace.”

Even months after her death, Rhonda Graam’s cause of death was not revealed.
