Ray Mcelrathbey was born on September 26, 1986, as Ramon D. McElrathbey. He attended Clemson University and acquired his bachelor’s degree in sociology and communications in 2008. Later, he attended Howard University and earned a degree in sports administration and management. While at Howard, he participated in Howard football. In 2010, he earned a degree in fitness. Durrell Caldwell was Ray’s coach at Mays High School. He had numerous offers to play at various universities. Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Tulane were among them. But he chose Clemson over others and committed to only Clemson.
