Barry Weiss is a well-known American music executive and producer best known for founding the label RECORDS in 2015. Furthermore, he began his Hollywood career in 1982 with Clive Calder’s Jive Records.

Barry Weiss was born in New York on February 11, 1959, under the zodiac sign Aquarius. He is American and of white ethnicity, according to his nationality. Similarly, Hy Weiss, his father, was a music businessman who launched Old Town Records in the late 1950s. Rosalyn Weiss, his mother, was a housewife.

Barry received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 1981. In 1986, he earned his Master of Business Administration from New York University. In addition to his early years, he worked at Ariola American and Infinity Records.

Furthermore, he landed a prominent position at Clive Calder, a South African-born British billionaire new,’s label, Jive Records. Barry was elevated to President of Jive Records in 1995, where he supports several renowned artists. Furthermore, Weiss was appointed Chairman and CEO of BMG in 2008. It is possible that he departed the company after two years to join the Universal Music Group.

Weiss has collaborated with musicians such as Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Chris Brown, R.Kelly, and T-Pain. In 2015, he co-founded RECORDS, a new independent label in collaboration with Songs Music Publishing. RECORDS became a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment in 2018.
