He co-wrote almost a dozen Broadway plays with George, including songs like “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You,” “The Man I Love,” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.” He also wrote the text for George’s opera Porgy and Bess, along with DuBose Heyward.
