A professional footballer from Togo who plays as a striker He previously played for English clubs Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace, as well as Metz in France, Monaco in Monaco, Real Madrid in Spain, Istanbul Başakşehir and Kayserispor in Turkey, and Olimpia Asunción in Paraguay.
He was named African Footballer of the Year in 2008 while playing for Arsenal, and in his later career, he became the most recognizable signing in Paraguayan football and the highest-paid player in the country’s history when he joined Olimpia Asunción in 2020. Adebayor was a member of Togo’s national team at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, the country’s first and only appearance in the World Cup.
