Sam Walton was the father of Jim Walton and the founder of the retail giant Walmart. He was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Married to Helen Robson on the 14th February 1943, the couple was blessed with four children named Samuel Robson (Rob) born in 1944, John Thomas (1946-2005), James Carr (Jim) born in 1948, and Alice Louise born in 1949. Walton suffered from cancer of two different types’ hairy-cell leukemia and bone marrow cancer. He died on April 5, 1992.
