Who is Keith Ellison?
Keith Ellison is a lawyer, a member of the Minnesota state Democratic Party affiliate, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), and a politician belonging to America.
Also, since 2007 he is the U.S. Representative of Minnesota’s 5th congressional district and since 2017 he is the titular Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee.

He was born to his parents Leonard Ellison and Calida (Martinez) Ellison on 4th August 1963.
His father is a psychiatrist and social worker. He has got four other brothers among which two are Leonard Ellison Jr. and Brian Ellison.
Besides, his three brothers are lawyers while his other brother is a doctor. Another, one of his brothers also has become the pastor in Detroit of the Baptist “Church of the New Covenant”.
His parents raised him along with his brothers in Detroit, Michigan. The details of his ancestry have currently been unknown as he has been keeping it personal.
Education History
In discussing his educational background, he had joined the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy and graduated from there in 1981.
Other, he joined Wayne State University located in Detroit at the age of 19 and converted to Islam from Catholicism. There he graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in economics.
However, he migrated to join the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis. He then passed the college in 1990 with a Juris Doctor.
