Who is James Risch?

James Risch is an American Republican politician, rancher, and attorney.

He currently serves as the junior United States Senator from Idaho.

From 2003 to 2006 and 2007 to 2009, he served as the 39th and 41st Lieutenant Governor of Idaho.

Rosch also served as the 31st Governor of Idaho from 2006 to 2007.

He was born on May 3, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. His full name is James Elroy Risch.

His father, Elroy A. Risch was of German descent, who worked as a lineman for the local telephone company.

His mother, Helen B. Levi was of Irish, Scottish, and English ancestry.

James is an American by nationality and belongs to the mixed ethnicity of German, Irish, Scottish, and English.

Education

James enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 1961. He then transferred to the University of Idaho in Moscow in 1963.

At the University of Idaho, he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

He graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry in 1965.

After that, he attended the University of Idaho’s College of Law.

From there, he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1968. While at the College of Law, he worked on Law Review at the College of Law Advisory Committee.
