Julie Rose Clapton’s Father And Mother Met In 1999
Julie’s father, Clapton, met her mother, the graphic artist McInerney, in 1999 in Los Angeles while working on an album with BB King.
They were married in front of a handful of close family and friends at St Mary Magdalene Church in Ripley, Surrey on New Year’s Day. Julie was six months old at the time. Julie’s father, Eric, was 56 at the time of the marriage and her mother, Melie, was 25.
Intriguingly, the English guitarist and his partner had originally invited guests to attend their daughter Julie’s christening.
Her older half-sister Ruth, who was 16 at the time, also attended the christening. Ruth was the first child of Julie’s father, Clapton, from his previous relationship with Yvonne Kelly.
