Eloise was married to Jesse Harvey. Her husband, Jesse, was a coal miner. 

The pair shared five children, and Steve Harvey is the youngest. 

Eloise passed away in 1997 at the age of 83, and the cause of death was a stroke. 

She has seven grandchildren from his son Steve.
