Hall of Fame New York Knicks center who scored over 20,000 career points and was named to 11 NBA All-Star teams over the course of his 16-year career. He spent the majority of his career as the starting center for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), before finishing with brief stints with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Orlando Magic. Ewing was a four-year starter at center for Georgetown, reaching the NCAA Championship Game three times. In 2008, ESPN ranked him as the 16th greatest college basketball player of all time. He played in the NBA for seventeen years. During his tenure, the Knicks reached the NBA Finals twice (1994 and 1999). He was a member of the United States men’s Olympic basketball teams that won gold medals in 1984 and 1992. In a 1996 poll commemorating the NBA’s 50th anniversary, Ewing was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
