Harry Giles was born in Winston-Salem, NC on April 22, 1998. Forward was one of the top high school recruits in the class of 2016 out of Wesleyan Christian Academy. He played one year of college basketball at Duke before declaring for the NBA. He was selected 20th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, who then traded him to the Sacramento Kings. He played for head coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke. He tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus while playing for Team USA’s U16 squad in 2013.

On 22 June 2017, Giles was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 20th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft. His rights were later traded to the Kings of Sacramento on Draft Night. Giles would sit down with the NBA Summer League in 2017. On July 8, 2017, Giles signed a $10,621,750 rookie scale contract with Kings over four years. On May 14, 2018, The Sacramento Bee announced that Giles would participate in the California Classic Summer League on July 2, 3, and 5 at Sacramento. On October 31, 2019, the Kings refused Giles’ $4 million option for the 2020–21 season.
