Ylan Mui is the daughter of Bong Q. Mui and DanTam Mui.

More information on her parents: Her father, Dr. Bong Mui, is a doctor who works at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in Texas. In the 1970s, Bong and DanTam married in Vietnam. He was a medical student at the time, while her mother was a law student. Dalam, on the other hand, is a director at Mui Family Investments in Texas.

Bong later moved to the United States after the birth of his first daughter, Vy, and attended Tulane University in New Orleans. However, leaving his wife and child in Vietnam, which was in the midst of a war, worried him.

According to reports, Ylan’s pain and longing ended six years after he separated from his family. Several times during that time, he attempted to visit his family.

The Mui family relocated to New Orleans following their family reunion. Dr. Mui and his wife recently welcomed their second child, Ylan. But tragedy struck the Mui family in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina damaged their home and caused them to lose one.
