Her father was a well-known lawyer and senior partner at Hiscock and Barclay. Albert died of cancer, and he was also a member of the Albany Medical Center’s board of directors. Caroline was raised by her brothers Albert and Philip. She graduated from Albany Academy for Girls in 1971 and afterward attended a college in North Hampton.
