Jack Elam is best known as a film actor. Grizzled actor who played supporting roles, usually as a villain, in a variety of westerns. His TV credits include Zorro, Have Gun Will Fly, and Lone Ranger. He was born on November 13, 1920, in Miami, AZ. He was a regular actor at Gunsmoke, starring Dennis Weaver, portraying everything from gangsters to sophisticated debtors. He lost sight of himself in his left eye after he was in a fight at 12 years of age. The damage had contributed to his grizzled look. He has starred in more than 100 films about his carer, including the High Noon and Gunfight classics at the O.K. It’s Corral. He has starred in more than 200 TV episodes.
