Katherine has stated:

My dad grew up in Cork, and moved to Canada when he was 30. Even before I was born, my mom was travelling over with me, and then at least once a year my whole life. Now I gig here a lot, in Dublin, Belfast and Cork, and my Irish family want to see my daughter about every three months.
