Tom Ellis is an actor and is popularly known for his role as Lucifer in the Netflix series Lucifer. There are musical episodes prompting the voice of someone to sin, and the voice heard from Lucifer is none other than Tom Ellis’. It is believed that he is also good at playing the guitar.

Who Is Tom Ellis?

On Nov. 17, 1978, Tom Ellis was born to Marilyn Jean and Christopher John Ellis in Cardiff. He has three sisters and is a twin of one of them, making him the only son of the family.

Soon after Tom Ellis was born, the family moved to Sheffield, South Yorkshire, in England, where he attended High Storrs School and played the French horn in the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra.

He later received his Bachelor of Arts certificate in Dramatic Studies at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Now armed with his armament for acting, he was ready to dive into the entertainment industry and see what it had in store for him.

Tom Ellis’ Career

His breakout role in the acting industry was in Miranda, a BBC One sitcom in 2010 as Gary Preston. But before this big role in Miranda, he had also been featured in numerous shows like: Kiss Me, Kate, in the year 2000, Nice Guy Eddie from 2001 to 2002, Pollyanna in 2003, No Angels in 2005 to 2006, and many others.

He also played ‘King Cenred’ in Merlin, ‘Thomas Milligan’ in the Doctor Who series three finale “Last of the Time Lords”, as well as a role in EastEnders. Let’s also not forget Agatha Christie’s Poirot, where he was cast as Detective Inspector Bland

In 2015, Tom Ellis was cast for the series he’s popularly known for today, and that was none other than the role of ‘Lucifer Morningstar’ in the Netflix series Lucifer, which was based on the DC comic character of the same name. He also reprised the role of Lucifer in the CW television network series The Flash, episode of the Arrowverse Crossover “Crisis On Infinite Earths.”

Through his performances and recognition over the years, Tom Ellis was awarded in 2021 with ‘Tell-Tale TV Award for Favorite Actor in Cable or Streaming Sci-fi/Fantasy/Horror series’, giving him more fame and recognition.
