Katy Perry used to have a cat named Kitty Purry. Unfortunately, Kitty, who had been Katy’s companion for many years, recently passed away. Katy said a heartfelt goodbye to her on social media. She has two other pets – both are dogs. One is named Butters and the other is called Nugget.

Kitty Purry Recently Passed Away
Losing a pet is perhaps one of the most difficult aspects of life. Katy Perry recently lost her pet cat and is still grieving over it. Katy Perry’s cat was named Kitty Purry – in reference to the singer’s own name. Katy and Kitty had been together for 15 years. Kitty was a tabby cat who had white markings on her paws and chest.
In 2011, Katy spoke out about how she’s a dog person, but Kitty won her over with time. “I hated cats when I was growing up because I had dogs, and I really didn’t understand cats. Then, all of a sudden, a cat kind of walked into my life and wouldn’t leave, and her name is Kitty Purry,” she said, adding, “I started to have to be a little more patient, I had to really kind of figure her out. And then I started to notice, ‘Oh my God, maybe that’s kind of how I am.’ You have to take a little patience with me. You have to earn my affection.”
Fun fact, Katy Perry released a Kitty-inspired fragrance that year – called Meow! by Katy Perry, which is still available in stores. The year before that, she released another similar fragrance – this one was called Purr.
Katy shared an Instagram post consisting of pictures of Kitty at her passing. She added a heartfelt note, explaining how she met Kitty when she happened to crawl in through her then-boyfriend’s window around 15 years ago.
Katy Perry Has Two Dogs
As mentioned earlier, Katy is a dog person. Her two living pets are dogs, and both are stars themselves, just like Kitty had become an icon in her own right! Back in 2009, Kitty had been nominated for Best Celebrity Pet at the Teen Choice Awards. Even though she didn’t win, she made her on-screen debut at the end of Katy’s lyric video for Roar.
Katy Perry’s dogs are Nugget Perry and Butters Perry. Both are poodles, but Nugget is a bit smaller; being a teacup poodle. Neither is a stranger to the spotlight, because not only do they make appearances on her social media often, both dogs can also be seen accompanying her to events and performances!
Nugget gets her name from Katy Perry’s love of boot-shaped nuggets, which she says are her comfort food. Nugget appears in the music video for Small Talk. He also starred in an ad that Katy did for Citi’s Double Cash card in 2017. ” Nugget even gets her own personalized chair backstage!
Butters is also sometimes referred to by his full name, Butterscotch not very big; he’s about the size of a small stuffed animal, but he is also often seen on Katy Perry’s social media. In fact, both dogs have their own social media as well!
