Jimmy Donaldson, also known online as MrBeast, is a YouTuber, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is part of a community of American YouTubers that people love for their fun content and philanthropic acts.
MrBeast began posting videos on the YouTube platform at the age of 13 under the pseudonym “MrBeast6000.” His first videos consisted of Let’s Plays and videos where he estimated the wealth of other YouTubers.
Finally, in 2017, he went viral after posting a video titled “Counting to 100,000” which garnered tens of thousands of views in just a few days.
After the popularity of his channel continued to grow, MrBeast began to include expensive challenge videos. These included thousands of dollars in rewards and even videos donating large amounts of money.
MrBeast hired his childhood friends to be part of his growing new brand. Today, his team comprises 30 people of diverse backgrounds.

He bought printed and digital advertising, and numerous radio advertisements to help Pewdiepie gain more subscribers. At the Super Bowl LIII, he bought seats for him and his friends to wear shirts that said “Sub 2 Pewdiepie.”
In January 2021, MrBeast surpassed the 50 million subscriber mark on YouTube, a very significant figure within the community. Additionally, MrBeast has other YouTube channels including MrBeast Gaming and MrBeast Shorts.
His Philanthropic Approach to Stardom
By 2020, MrBeast was one of the highest-paid YouTubers on the platform. It’s all thanks to the channel’s millions of views and also due to funding and sponsorship he gets from the coupon company Honey.
With all his money, MrBeast usually posts videos giving away large sums of money. Donating $10,000 to local Los Angeles animal shelters or $100,000 worth of items to homeless shelters are some of his most typical videos.

In 2019, MrBeast and YouTuber Mark Rober organized a fundraising event called #TeamTrees. The goal of the project was to raise $20 million for the Arbor Day Foundation and in return, the organization would plant a tree for every dollar raised.
A few months after that, MrBeast announced that he would launch a virtual restaurant called MrBeast Burger. The restaurant will launch in around 300 locations across the United States and will even have an app.
