#Quote
1Mostly when you're filming you go home in the evenings, but this one was shot in Dorset, which was too far to travel. We all stayed in the same hotel so we had a larky time. (On Agatha Christie's Marple: Why Didn't They Ask Evans? (2009))
2I'm very excited, but also slightly daunted by the enormous responsibility that comes with taking on such an iconic role. Just about everybody in the world knows about Miss Marple and has an opinion of what she should be like, so I'm under no illusions about the size of the task ahead.
#Fact
1New Miss Marple on TV, replacing Geraldine McEwan. [February 2008]
2Appearing in "The Philadelphia Story" at the Old Vic, London [July 2005]
3When she appeared on Broadway, she had to change her name to "Julie N. McKenzie" because of a conflict with a similarly named actress who was already a member of Actor's Equity, the American union for stage actors.
4Was nominated for Broadway's 1977 Tony Award as Best Actress (Featured Role - Musical) for "Side by Side by Sondheim" (under the name "Julie N. McKenzie").
5She was awarded the 1987 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actress for her performance in Woman in Mind.
6She was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1994 (1993 season) for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Sweeney Todd at the Royal National Theatre.
