Should I Prune Celosia?

Should I Prune Celosia?

Should You Prune the Plant? You can pinch back your celosia stems to encourage a bushier plant, but it isn't mandatory. By pinching it, you will also encourage the growth of plumes and get a more uniform look. When plants are 8–12 inches tall, remove any dead leaves, limbs, and flowers.

How do you prune celosia?

Celosias make good cut or dried flowers. To dry, cut stems of full blooms at peak, and remove all the leaves, wrap a rubber band around 6-8 cut stems and hang them upside down from a coat hanger in a dark, cool, dry, airy space for several weeks or until fully dried.

Does celosia grow back after cutting?

Celosia is not considered a cut and come again, however it does produce flowers all summer long. It is considered to be a medium producer. Some of our plants grew very tall last year, about 48 inches or more, and had many side shoots to pick from.
