Where Outside Do Fleas Live?

Outdoors, fleas prefer moist, shady, cool places. They especially like shrubs, leaves, and trees, and don't fare well in sunny areas or open grass.

Where would fleas be outside?

They easily spread between different animals and then make their way into your home when the pets come in for a visit or to sleep. Outside, fleas can typically be found in shady areas, near long grass or bushes, while they wait for a host to pass by.

Do fleas just live outside?

To this day, fleas live outdoors. In warmer climates, they can survive year-round, but in cooler areas, they tend to die off in the winter. But in the summer, their population explodes. Fleas require high humidity to stay alive, and so they prefer to hide in shaded areas.
