For most though, physical clutter begins to appear when we have too much stuff + we have no organized systems for the things we own. #TruthBomb boo: when you own less stuff, maintaining a clutter-free home is not only easier but clutter has less control of our time, our lives and our energy.
Why a clutter-free home is important?
Clutter begins to appear most prominently when we own too much stuff. Conversely, the fewer items we own, the easier it is to keep clutter at a minimum. The first (and most important) step in keeping your home clutter-free is to remove the excessive possessions that are stealing our lives, time, and energy.
Is it unhealthy to live in clutter?
Clutter can affect our anxiety levels, sleep, and ability to focus. It can also make us less productive, triggering coping and avoidance strategies that make us more likely to snack on junk and watch TV shows (including ones about other people decluttering their lives).
