This "Superbad" character is based on Rogen and Goldberg's Point Grey high school friend, Sammy Fogell. What's funny is that while they wrote their two characters based on them at age 18, they wrote Fogell based on what he was like when he was 13.

Was Fogell based on a real person?

They also had a friend named Fogell in actuality. Most of the events that take place in 'Superbad' are inspired by real-life incidents, like the scene where Seth's pants are stained by menstrual blood by the girl he's dancing with was something that really happened to a friend of Goldberg and Rogen.

Who is Fogell in real life?

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about or perhaps you've been in a coma for the last 14 years, let's go back to the 2007 cult classic film when Fogell, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who is 31 in real life, gets himself a fake ID to buy beer and liquor for his crew to take to a party.
