When a footnote must be placed at the end of a sentence, add the number after the period. Numbers denoting footnotes should always appear after punctuation, with the exception of one piece of punctuation3—the dash.

Why are footnotes not superscript?

If you find that a document no longer has footnote numbers (in the body of the document) superscripted, we need to make sure the superscript code is added globally again to the appropriate style.
