Osteopathic physicians may decide to work as surgeons in a hospital setting, in a hospital's emergency department, or in another hospital unit, caring for patients with injuries or life-threatening illnesses such as heart failure or serious conditions like diabetes.
Can DOs work in hospitals?
D.O.s are fully-qualified physicians licensed to prescribe medications and perform surgery in all 50 states. There are literally thousands of D.O.s who work in all medical specialties in hospitals and clinics all across the country.
Can DOs practice internationally?
