Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive only. Postinor-2 is not intended as a regular method of contraception. It is used to prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. It is estimated that Postinor-2 will prevent 85% of expected pregnancies.

Can I get pregnant after taking Postinor-2?

If a pregnancy is suspected, the menstrual period is late, or the last menstrual period was abnormal in character and timing, pregnancy should be excluded with a pregnancy test or pelvic examination before taking the treatment. If pregnancy occurs after taking Postinor-2, an ectopic pregnancy is possible.

How many times can I take Postinor-2 in a month?

Postinor-2 tablet may be used at any time within the menstrual cycle. If vomiting occurs within 2 hours after drug intake, the dose must be repeated. No more than 4 tablets may be taken per month.
