Insect are exothermic (cold-blooded), which means they cannot produce their own body heat. So to survive and thrive in climates such as ours, insects have developed several ways to deal with cold weather.
What insects are cold blooded?
A foreigner may not have written a song about them, but mosquitoes cannot regulate their own temperatures by producing body heat. Mosquitoes are cold blooded. Like most cold-blooded animals, mosquitoes do not do well in cold environments.
Are arachnids warm or cold blooded?
With a few exceptions, all mammals and birds are warm-blooded while all reptiles, arachnids, insects, amphibians and fish are cold-blooded.
