For most participants, the NDIS does not provide funding for housing costs such as rent. However, a small percentage of NDIS participants may qualify for SDA in their plan (the NDIS will provide an annual payment for SDA to the SDA owner and this funding is attached to the individual participant and is portable).

Can you get a house through NDIS?

The NDIS participant, or their family, can buy a property and use their SDA payments to cover the mortgage.

Does NDIS pay for accommodation?

The National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) that is creating additional affordable rental properties. The NDIS may also contribute to the cost of accommodation in situations where the participant has a need for specialised housing due to their disability.
