This belongs to a group of medicines called 'Proton Pump Inhibitors' (PPIs). They work by lowering the amount of acid that your stomach produces. Pariet tablets are used to treat the following conditions: 'Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease' (GORD), which can include heartburn.
How long does it take for pariet to work?
Most people will experience some improvements in symptoms 1 to 2 weeks after starting rabeprazole. It may take up to 4 weeks for people to experience maximum benefit from this medication. Keep taking this medication and finish all the tablets as recommended by your doctor even if you start to feel better.
Should I take Pariet in the morning or at night?
It's usual to take rabeprazole once a day, first thing in the morning. If your doctor prescribes rabeprazole twice a day, take 1 dose in the morning and 1 dose in the evening. It's best to take rabeprazole before a meal. Swallow tablets whole with a drink of water.
