They all appear dead, nothings moving, they're still holding onto whatever they were on when disaster struck. they're at different stages of development or at least they are all different sizes. They all look healthy they just aren't moving!
How do you know if wax worms are alive?
If they start turning black and appear flat/deflated then they are dead. I keep my wax worms warm by using a 7w reptile heat mat (any heat source will do).
How long does it take for wax worms to move?
Wait for the moths to hatch.
At warm temperatures, an adult moth could emerge from the cocoon in as few as ten days after spinning. Don't be surprised if it takes a couple weeks (or up to 40 days for lesser waxworms). At room temperature, you may have to wait as long as 60 days.
