The app is free to existing Halide owners, while new users can either pay a one-off purchase fee ($40) or go with monthly ($1.99) or yearly ($11.99) subscriptions. Using iPads to take photographs has a bit of a reputation problem.

Is Halide for free?

The original version of Halide was a one-time paid app, but now, there are a few different ways you can pay for it. If you've already paid for Halide, you get Mark II for free as well as a year-long subscription with all of the perks that includes. (A bit more on that later.)

Is halide Mark II free?

If you already used the original Halide, you'll get all the new features of Mark II completely free for a year, with the option to subscribe for $1/£1 monthly to support the developers.
