Why Linseed Is Used?

Linseed oil, extracted from flax seed, is one of the most useful natural oils. It is used as a preservative for wood, concrete, and an ingredient in paints, varnishes, and stains. As if that wasn't enough, it is also used in soaps, inks, and in the production of linoleum!

What are linseed used for?

Linseed oil can be used to make hummus, whisked into dressings for salads and added to healthy smoothies. Whole linseeds work well with other grains in cereal, porridge, muesli and flapjacks. One of the most popular uses for linseed is as an egg replacement.

Is linseed good for your health?

Flaxseed is commonly used to improve digestive health or relieve constipation. Flaxseed may also help lower total blood cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol levels, which may help reduce the risk of heart disease.
