Stretch marks are a normal part of growing for many men and women. They can occur during puberty, pregnancy, or rapid muscle or weight gain. Stretch marks are not likely to go away on their own.
Why do I have indented stretch marks?
The skin is naturally stretchy and flexible to accommodate for events like pregnancy or growth, but when it's stretched too far, stretch marks can result. Stretch marks are indented streaks called striae that can appear on several areas of the body, including the breasts, hips, buttocks and thighs.
Can stretch marks cause indents?
If you have a stretch mark, you may feel a slight indentation if you touch it. Scars that form on top of your skin may feel like a bump, but stretch marks form below the top layer of skin, leaving an indentation.
