Some birds nest in brush or the lower parts of trees. Others prefer treetops. Some like the shady deep forest and others prefer a single tree or bush in a forest clearing. Many birds like the edge of a windbreak or wooded area, next to an open area.

What is the home of a bird?

A bird nest is the spot in which a bird lays and incubates its eggs and raises its young.

Do birds live in nests?

There is a mistaken notion that birds sleep in nests at night, but birds use nests for incubating eggs and raising their young. During nesting seasons, birds will sleep in nests at night to provide their eggs or young with needed warmth and protection against predators.
